Showhouse and other Designs
The Society of the Arts hosts a local designer showhouse to benefit the arts every other year. I have had the opportunity to participate in a couple of them. One of which was a modern guest room in a lovely home located in the Rose Garden Neighborhood of West End Allentown. The room had a repeating circle theme throughout from the playful poka dot sheers to the upholstered chair fabric, iron accent trifold screen, and to the whimsical mirror circles stretching from the console to the ceiling. The jewel of this room was the beautiful hand blown glass sphere chandelier.
The inspiration for The Mosser Mansion SOTA Showhouse was a little girl. The focal point was a large plaid fabric carona canopy lined with rasberry colored velvet fit for a princess. A comfy chair to read fairytales, a hand painted miniature table with an animal toile motif was perfect to host a tea party for favorite stuffed animals, and a handpainted toy chest to stow away dollies. This little girl would drift off to sweet dreams staring at the beautiful hand painted ceiling.
I also enjoyed working with a local quaint spa and Inn. The theme was what I would describe as refined woodlands. I enjoyed assisting in all color selections as well as designing the main gathering room for the Inn which included finding fun rustic "stick" furniture and a fantastic chandelier!
